Transparency promise
At SOAPSTAR we understand that the term "natural" does not always mean safer or healthier. The effectiveness and safety of a product depend on various factors, such as the concentration of the active substances, the composition, method of use, and the individual sensitivity of the user's skin.
We choose our ingredients carefully, and have a special focus on developing products that are also friendly to people with various skin allergies to, for example, synthetic preservatives and perfumes.
At SOAPSTAR we strive to provide our customers with transparent and clear information about what goes into our products. That is why we share on this page not only which natural ingredients we use to create our skin-friendly products, but also which ingredients we consciously avoid.
Our formulations are free from palm oil, microplastics and other synthetic additives, are developed with a strict policy against animal cruelty and are not tested on animals.
This way you can choose our care products with complete insight and confidence, knowing that they are safe for both your skin and nature
Meet the team: our certified ingredients
Alcohol Denat, also known as denatured alcohol, is used in our sanitizing hand sprays and fragrance sticks.
Production process of bio-alcohol
The bio-alcohol used by SOAPSTAR in the hand sprays and fragrance sticks comes from a sustainable source. This alcohol is produced by fermentation of vegetables and other vegetable residues. This process converts natural sugars from these materials into alcohol. This method of alcohol production is not only environmentally friendly, but also ensures that our products contribute to reducing waste.
Bio-alcohol in hand sprays
Alcohol is necessary in hand sprays because of its effective disinfectant effect. It helps to thoroughly clean and disinfect the hands, making it an essential ingredient in products aimed at hygiene.
Bio-alcohol in fragrance sticks
In the fragrance sticks, this bio alcohol contributes to the spread of the scent. It helps dilute and disperse the aromas, allowing the scent to spread evenly throughout the room. This makes it an important part of our fragrance products.
Aqua, better known as water, is an essential ingredient in our soaps, sprays and shower gels. Water serves as a base and plays a crucial role in shaping the texture and consistency of our products and helping to distribute and mix other ingredients.
We use purified water in our soaps, shower gels and sprays to ensure they are free from impurities and harmful substances. This guarantees that our products are gentle and safe for the skin. Water is also essential for hydrating the skin as it helps retain moisture in the skin, contributing to a healthy, hydrated appearance.
You can find benzyl alcohol in some of our products, which comes from flowers and plants and is therefore contained in the essential oils that we use to perfume the products. The presence of benzyl alcohol from essential oils helps keep products fresh and usable for longer by preventing bacteria and mold from developing.
Benzyl alcohol is classified as an allergen because it can cause an allergic skin reaction in some cases. This means that people with sensitive skin or certain allergies may experience a reaction when using products containing this substance.
Although it is a natural component of some essential oils and often used in skin care products, it is important to be aware of the potentially allergenic nature of benzyl alcohol.
It is also important to note that allergens such as benzyl alcohol and essential oils should never be used directly on the skin.
At SOAPSTAR we use our perfumes and essential oils carefully and in controlled quantities to guarantee the quality and safety of our products.
Benzyl benzoate is used, among other things, as a treatment for skin conditions such as scabies and lice, as an odor enhancer in perfumes and also as a flavoring in food products.
Benzyl benzoate occurs in both synthetic and natural forms. The natural variant is usually obtained from certain plants and is identical in chemical composition to the synthetic form.
SOAPSTAR only uses the natural variant that occurs in the essential oils with which we perfume our products. Note: Although it is natural, some people may still experience allergic reactions or skin irritation when using products containing benzyl benzoate, whether natural or synthetic.
* This ingredient is found in SOAPSTAR's liquid hand soaps and shower gels
Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, known as calendula extract or marigold extract, has proven anti-inflammatory properties and is one of the ingredients in our Cybele Skin and Hair Oil .
It contains various bioactive substances such as terpenoids, terpenes,
carotenoids, flavonoids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. These substances are responsible for the anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects of the marigold. The extract works by reducing the production of nitric oxide (NO), a pro-inflammatory mediator produced by immune cells.

Citral is one of the main fragrances found in the essential oil of lemongrass, among others. In addition to a fresh scent, it also has other important properties. For example, citral has an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal effect. Please note: Citral may cause allergic reactions
some. That is why we recommend testing products with citral on a small area of skin first. It is also essential to never apply citral or essential oils directly to the skin without a carrier oil or product, to avoid irritation.

Citric acid, a natural organic compound, is an important ingredient in many care products.
Citric acid helps balance the pH of products, contributing to a healthier skin environment.
In addition, it acts as a mild preservative, ensuring that products have a longer shelf life.
Citric acid is added to SOAPSTAR hand soaps and shower gels
Citronellol, like Citral, is a fragrance derived from lemongrass, but can also be found in roses and geraniums. Citral is used not only for its pleasant scent, but also to enhance other fragrance components in products. It contributes
the complexity and depth of perfumes.
At SOAPSTAR we use citral carefully and in accordance with safety standards, to ensure that our products not only smell wonderful, but are also kind to your skin.
Heavenly scent experience
In our collection, each fragrance brings out the unique qualities of certain stars through the use of carefully chosen essential oils. This approach is based on the idea that scents can help to evoke a certain atmosphere or feeling associated with the characteristics of the stars. As a result, each product offers a unique fragrance experience that is inspired by the natural world and the universe around us.
Origin of essential oils
Essential oils, also called essential oils, are concentrated plant extracts that preserve the essence of the plant's scent and taste. These oils can be extracted from almost any part of a plant, such as the flowers, leaves, roots, and bark. Because of this, some plants have different types of essential oils depending on
the part of the plant that is used.
Allergens in essential oil
Essential oils contain several substances that provide distinctive scents. For example, orange oil contains a lot of limonene, lemon oil has a high concentration of citral, and clove oil consists mainly of eugenol. However, it is essential to know that these oils should never be applied directly to the skin without diluting them with a carrier oil or product. Direct application may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions, especially on sensitive skin.
Eugenol is a natural fragrance found mainly in cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and bay leaves. This organic compound is known for its warm, spicy aroma and is widely used in aromatherapy.
Like other fragrances, eugenol should be used carefully and responsibly. In high concentrations it can cause irritation, especially in people with sensitive skin.
SOAPSTAR always uses eugenol in very low concentrations in skin care products, making it safe.
Farnesol is a fragrance and sesquiterpene alcohol, which is produced by various organisms and also various flowers - such as roses and jasmine - and thus ends up in various essential oils. Research shows that farnesol can affect the growth of several bacteria and fungi, suggesting it has potential as an antimicrobial agent. This means that farnesol is not just a
adds a pleasant scent to products, but can also contribute to increasing the overall effectiveness against certain microorganisms.

Geraniol is a natural fragrance that you can find in various plants and essential oils. One of the most common sources of geraniol is palmarosa oil, which gives it the distinctive, attractive rose scent. Also, geraniol has been recognized in recent research for its potential as an anti-inflammatory agent. This research, which focuses on alternative testing methods without animal testing, such as in-vitro and ex-vivo models, highlights the effectiveness of substances such as geraniol in controlling inflammation. These methods use advanced techniques to accurately evaluate the anti-inflammatory properties of such compounds. Although these studies are still in development
are and require refinement, they offer promising insights into it
potential of geraniol as a natural anti-inflammatory agent
Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is an important ingredient in many skin care products because of its moisturizing properties. This odorless, gel-like substance is known for its ability to attract and retain moisture in the skin, contributing to proper hydration and nourishment of the skin. In addition to its moisturizing benefits, glycerin also helps to improve the structure of products, giving them the right consistency and not being too runny.
At SOAPSTAR we only use vegetable glycerol. This means that our glycerin comes from plant sources, as opposed to animal fats. This fits with our commitment to natural and ethical ingredients.
Sunflower seed oil, derived from the seeds of the sunflower, is a lightweight, versatile oil that is ideal for our best seller Skin and hair oil Cybele . The oil is extracted from the small berries of the sea buckthorn, a plant that mainly grows in cold, mountainous regions. Each berry contains only a small amount of oil, so many berries are needed for a relatively small amount of oil.
This oil is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins (especially vitamins C and E) and antioxidants. This composition makes it the star of our Cybele Skin and Hair Oil , as it helps nourish, protect and repair the skin. Scientific research supports the benefits of sea buckthorn oil for the skin, including moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties.
Inulin, again a natural ingredient known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties, is a valuable component of our soaps, shower gels and sanitizers. This ingredient is extracted from the roots of chicory plants, such as chicory and endive. Inulin contributes to the overall care and hydration of the skin, similar to the role of glycerin in skin care products.
Limonene is a fragrance commonly found in essential oils and comes in two forms: D-Limonene and L-Limonene. D-Limonene, which has a distinctive orange-like scent, and L-Limonene, which has more of a citrus scent, are both obtained from the peels of oranges and other citrus fruits.
This substance is widely used in fragrance products because of its fresh and invigorating aroma. It is interesting to know that limonene is not only used for its pleasant scent, but also in household cleaners and industrial solvents for its powerful degreasing properties.

The oil is also rich in antioxidants, including vitamin E, which help protect the skin against the damaging effects of free radicals and environmental stressors.
These properties make macadamia oil particularly suitable for dry or mature skin types, but it can also benefit other skin types that need extra nourishment and hydration.
Sodium benzoate or Sodium benzoate is a sodium salt derived from benzoic acid. It is a substance that is commonly found in berries, cranberries in particular contain a high concentration of benzoic acid.
Benzoic acid has a strong antibacterial effect and is therefore used - in the form of sodium salt - as a preservative. Since it is impossible to obtain large numbers from nature, SOAPSTAR chooses to imitate them synthetically, with exactly the same compound, to minimize the footprint on our environment.
Sodium benzoate/ Sodium benzoate vs parabens
Instead of parabens, SOAPSTAR uses the preservative sodium benzoate. Parabens are synthetic preservatives that are believed to disrupt the hormone balance in women and that is precisely why we do not use them.
Sodium benzoate/ Sodium benzoate & Vitamin C
Due to the reaction with ascorbic acid (vitamin C), uncertainty has arisen about the safety of sodium benzoate. It is true that when sodium benzoate in its purest form comes into direct contact with ascorbic acid, the dangerous substance benzene
arises. When sodium benzoate is incorporated into a product, this reaction does not occur. Products containing sodium benzoate are safe to use in combination with products containing vitamin C.
